The 2020 Snohomish County State of Well-being Report will reveal results of the 6th Annual Health & Well-being Monitor™ for Snohomish County, including impacts of the global pandemic on local well-being, climate change and the current political environment, and discrimination and social justice issues. Institute executive director Scott Forslund will be joined by Dr. Janice Greene, President of NAACP Snohomish County, who will reveal the annual survey’s latest insights into impacts of racism and discrimination on well-being; and Stuart Elway, President of Elway Research and founder of The Elway Poll, who will present special pre-election results of the Institute’s 2020 Health & Well-being Monitor™.
Scott Forslund
Scott Forslund is the founding executive director of the Providence Institute for a Healthier Community, and director of technology & innovation/Community Health Investment for Providence St. Joseph Health. He brings over 30 years’ experience in healthcare, journalism, coalition building, and community-based research to these roles. Currently Scott serves on a number of boards and advisory councils including the Board of Trustees, YMCA of Snohomish County; Snohomish County Future Workforce Alliance; Advisory Board, University of Washington-Bothell School of Nursing and Health Studies; founding board member, Rise Up Academy Charter School; Improving School Attendance for Families in Transition/United Way CORE Collaborative; and others.
Janice R. Greene, PhD
Dr. Janice Greene recently retired from The Boeing Company where she led economic development and business intelligence strategy for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Management. In this position, Dr. Greene managed economic development and strategic alliances with domestic and international agencies for the broader procurement team. She was also for global business intelligence, utilizing procurement systems, and external providers to support supply chain strategies.
In her current role as President and CEO of Women Business Enterprise National Council, Dr. Greene continues to be a key individual in the future of equitable business development domestically and internationally.
Active in the community, Dr. Green serves as President of the Snohomish County NAACP and on the Board of Snohomish Ebony Political Action Committee. As President of the NAACP Snohomish County, she actively proves guidance and support to local officials and agencies seeking insight on matters impacting women and communities of color.
Stuart Elway, PhD
Stuart Elway is the president of Elway Research and founder of The Elway Poll. Stuart will report on 2020 Well-being Monitor™ results linking political affiliation to overall well-being. The Elway Poll has been providing independent, non-partisan analysis of public opinion in Washington and the Northwest since 1992.
