The 9th annual Edge of Amazing Health and Well-being Summit was held at Delta Marriott in Everett on October 18th. This event was engaging and interactive with the theme of Reconnection – integrating heart and soul practice that heal, sustain and improve well-being for ourselves and our community. Almost 300 community partners from a variety of sectors gathered to learn, collaborate, and rejuvenate. In addition, over 30 vendors shared their information and networked with each other.
The Snohomish County State of Well-being report highlighted community perception of health and well-being, impacts of covid and what it takes to flourish. Additional local data was available from several of our Snohomish County Health and Human Services partners, through visual poster displays. Luis Ortega, our morning keynote shared what it is to be a storyteller for change – how embracing strengths and cultural assets can cultivate wellness, nourishment, and joy in our lives. In the afternoon general session, our keynote Annie Thomas-Landrum, offered encouragement as helpers in protecting our energy and time, in order to say the big ‘YESES’ in life and have energy for moments that matter.
Throughout the day there were opportunities for art healing practices, mindfulness & movement. We ended our day with celebration of art produced throughout the day – a heart mandala gratitude wall. A perfect ending to this community gathering of helpers, who are leading and supporting our communities in the work they do every day. Many thanks to our participants, our speakers, and event staff– it truly was a day of reconnection!
