We were thrilled to be part of the Well Being Community Center’s Anniversary Event: Leading with Love this past Saturday, April 5th. They hold a special place in our hearts, as they were part of the original community network (Equity Partnership), that worked collaboratively with Providence Swedish NPS to bring early COVID-19 vaccinations to our local BIPOC community. They continued to build on that collaboration, responded to community needs and created a growing thriving new community resource partnership. Providence Institute for a Healthier Community (PIHC) shared self-care tips and healthy eating information as well as connections to LiveWellLocal.org— a community resource hub where folks can find a wide range of local health and well-being resources. We were joined by over 20 amazing community partners who provided valuable resources and health information. Attendees were treated to the incredible Aztec Dance performance by the Tona Mares family. They shared the principles of Aztec dance, teaching us about the cultural significance behind the dance, including a group dance class! Dr. Alina Urriola presented a session on “Health through Prevention”, where she provided valuable insights on staying healthy and preventing illnesses. Participants also enjoyed interactive kids’ activities including arts and crafts and fun games. A big shout out to La Malquerida for providing delicious tacos to all. Please find more information about the day here.
Thank you to the Well Being Community Center, for inspiring us with your programs, classes, outreach, resources, and this successful resource fair and celebration with the community!
